Feasibility study of nature-friendly technologies for Lviv-Lublin basin coal mining

Project author: National Mining University, Department of Geology and Mineral Prospecting, Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine).

Project objective: Developing methodology to evaluate Lviv-Lublin coal basin from the viewpoint of their feasibility use in nature-friendly technologies.

The project substantiation. Ukraine signs international agreement according to which it will have to cut gas emissions from 2018. To do that, it is provided to implement nature-friendly technologies. The problem is burning for Lviv-Volyn basin where coal is characterized by increased ash-content and sulphur content. As Lviv-Volyn and Lublin coal basins are common mega-assemblage located in the south-west of East European Table, results concerning generalization of the two basins coal composition and grade from the viewpoint of geological unity, findings of the research will serve both useful purpose and scientific one.

Feasibility study of nature-friendly technology implementation for Lviv-Lublin coal basin is the end effect. The technology will favour multiply and rational use of the whole region coal. It should also be noted that Lviv-Lublin coal basin includes territories of present Poland and Ukraine, and the fact improves results of the research.
