Development of the transfer concept of underground consumers of energy-intensive mines to the voltage of 20-35 kV

Project author: National Mining University, Department of Renewable Energy Sources, Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine).

Project objective: development of the concept of 20-35 kV voltage application in underground power supply system.

Project background: Nowadays, deep energy-intensive ore and coal mines have a problem of providing the required power quality parameters of underground consumers. For high voltage distribution networks of underground power supply system of mine is applied the 6 kV voltage. With the increase of the total power of consumers, the shaft and underground network are complicated (cross-section of wires cables are increased, parallel cable lines are laid etc.) causing increased power losses and leading to voltage consumers decreasing. Applied voltage level prevents the deepening of working levels and increasing in output of minerals. The research results of existing mining networks capacity and the limit values of dynamic ability of underground consumers of deep mines at 6 kV voltage of power lines show that to move to the next level voltage is possible at a depth of 1000 m and capacity of 10 MVA and above. Thus, it is reasonable to use the 35 kV voltage for the shaft network power supply. But this factor requires the development of an appropriate concept of 20-35 kV level voltage application at the underground power supply system.
