Scientific substantiation and development of the technology of construction materials with high levels of energy dissipation for the mining industry Project author: National Mining University, Department of Technic Prospecting of Deposits, Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine) Project objective: Development of highly efficient and environmentally friendly technology for high damping iron-based materials for the mining industry, having technological properties which exceed 1.5-2.0 times the existing alloys and the cost of which will be lower by 30-50%. Project background: To prevent dangerous resonant loads, prevent premature shock destruction of products, reduce the noise level in the construction of various technological purposes is currently widely used materials with a high capacity to dissipate energy irreversibly mechanical vibrations. Vibration damping materials are intensively developed in the U.S. (alloys "Ikramut" on the basis of manganese - copper), in England (alloys "Sonoston" based on the same system) and other countries. However, as shown by the analysis, the technology for producing such alloys requires complex and expensive equipment, and the materials themselves have a high cost. To eliminate these drawbacks and to achieve this goal is proposed to exclude from the material having a high level of damping, scarce materials having a high cost, and in the technology of the mechanism to implement elastic twinning, phase transformations and inverse magnetoelastic effect. In addition, the powder will be applied composite systems with acute severe heterogeneous structure .The developed technology enables production of metallic materials, which are applied with success in the mining industry for the manufacture of shells of various kinds of rock cutting tool. |
