New technological solutions for open mining

Project objective: Justification of new technological solutions for open mining to reduce the area of land disturbed by mining operations and to improve the effectiveness of remediation.

Project background: Open pit mining operations are accompanied by a disturbance of large areas of land that could reach thousands of hectares of land. Actuality of the problem increases taking into account that the disturbed land usually was used in agricultural activities. At the same time territories, disturbed by open mining, can only be partially restored to the former direction of use. This causes necessity of development of new technological solutions to reduce the areas disturbed by open pit mining operations on the stage of deposit development and as well as to improve the effectiveness of remediation after careers closing.
