Rationale of technology of regeneration of methane of trash dumps and possibility of his application as alternative power mediums

Project objective: Development and substantiation complex of actions for regeneration and utilization of methane landfill based on the study and analysis of new technological solutions.

Project background: Is continuously growing volumes of consumption of fossil energy resources pose a new task before industry research and production divisions which is the integrated development of alternative energy sources. One of the actual directions for Ukraine is the extraction of landfill methane.

Every day in Ukraine, thousands of tons of municipal solid waste received at the landfill. As a result of the natural process of decomposition of organic matter, such as food and paper, buried in these landfills, landfill gas stands out as a by-product of decomposition. Methane is the main component of landfill gas emissions that make it the main culprit of the "greenhouse effect." As a result of the reduction of methane emissions from landfill gas capture and its use as an energy source can achieve a significant amount of energy production, as well as the positive economic and environmental outcomes.

Implement projects for recover methane landfills and its application to generate energy reduces dependence on individual energy, contribute to the economy, create jobs and help the local economy. On an international scale there are significant opportunities to expand the use of landfill gas energy.
